I'm surprised this lasted 13 seasons. I watched a few and in every episode, she's a mouthy, rude, criticizing, mouthy, pushy bitch. She's annoying as hell to watch her be rude to those tv employee's. They do all the work and she takes credit. The writers of this show made her way too obnoxious.

I really missed Sonita Henry (D.C Prya Shamsie), in the later series! Great actress and I really liked her story arc! She and Adrian Scarborough ( D.I. Max Arnold) had very good rapport. I also liked his ex played by Anmaria Marinca! Love the series and otherwise!

I live in the U.S. in the heart land, and I think I have watched every episode more than once. Love midsummer!!!

It states to anyone who wants to listen that crime has roots in only one thing: family dysfunctioning and nothing else. The fact that society leads some people who do not fit in the standard mold to rebellion, frustration and violence by being biased against them and bullying them all the time and if they want to have contacts with people, they have to go down on their knees and beg for a favor. That’s too bad because the cases in this rural north Wales area deserve a lot better, and probably, a more open vision of crime in this community. Am I the only one who is wondering why the lead has a Scottish accent when she's meant to be South African ("Tannie" is Auntie in Afrikaans) - how do they weave the Afrikaans words in which are so atmospheric in the book, if she is now from overseas? And why the detective who has a 'chestnut moustache' in the book and and Afrikaans name, is black. I'm sure it's was a lovely series, but having read the book these characters are so far away from the people in the book that it's almost a different story altogether. Disappointed.

The parents are terrible parents!! Sure slapping his face was bullshit, but that little brat needed to have a good ole butt spanking! It's the kids who rule the household these days, because they never get punished for anything! Usually they will throw a tantrum and get whatever they want!
